Various Means of Mosquito Control
Mosquitoes are an annoying insect that has plagued the earth for millions of years. Once thought of as a common pest, it is now known that mosquitoes can carry and transmit some terrible diseases and viruses. This is why it is of the up most importance that everyone does their part for mosquito control.
There are various means of mosquito control. One type is mosquito traps. There are several of these available. One type is the insect electrocute light. These traps are said to attract mosquitoes and them electrocute them, thus reducing the amount of mosquitoes around your yard. Another type of mosquito trap is those that emit carbon dioxide, which is what attracts mosquitoes to you. The mosquito then goes to the source of the carbon dioxide and gets sucked into the trap. Here they dehydrate and die.
Another method of mosquito control is to utilize poisons. There are several ways to do this. For outdoors, there are many mosquito foggers on the market that you can spray to kill adult mosquito. Adult mosquitoes like to rest on weeds, tree limbs, and other sorts of vegetation. These foggers are made of concentrated pyrethrims.
Since adult mosquitoes like to land and rest on vegetation, you have another method of mosquito control available. Other than spraying pesticides, you should also cut your grass low, remove any weeds and unwanted shrubbery, and also trim your tree limbs.
Adult mosquitoes are not the only thing you should worry about. Mosquito larvae can also lead to more mosquitoes. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in free standing water sources. This means to eliminate mosquitoes from breeding in your yard, you need to eliminate the sources where they lay eggs. This can be: ponds, animal watering dishes and containers, wading pools, kiddie pools, bird baths, and even water that collects somewhere from a recent rainfall.
